About me

I provide clients with writing and editing, research, evaluation, data visualization and facilitation services through The Camassia Group. I’m also a Practice Partner Coach with the Equitable Evaluation Initiative.

I work with foundations across the country who want to make their evaluation and research functions more equitable, transparent and accountable to the communities they serve. This is a continuation of the legacy of my grandfather, Robert Matthews Johnson, who was a thought leader in philanthropy and equitable evaluation.

Previously, I was a Research + Learning Officer at Oregon Community Foundation.

At OCF, I conducted developmental evaluations for multi-year, multi-site & mixed-method initiatives in arts education, creative risk, child health and economic mobility. I created tools and conducted interviews, focus groups and surveys. I wrote reports, literature reviews and case studies, policy memos and landscape scans. I led workshops and gave presentations to boards and nonprofits across the state.

I have a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Tulane University, with a focus on Maternal/Child Health and Health Communication. I’ve worked in philanthropy, at nonprofits, and in the public and private sectors. I’ve managed health programs in settings as diverse as a City Hall, WIC Clinics, hospitals and a woman’s prison.
